Have Wiikey 1.9s would like to add a Hard Drive to 4.2e Wii

Hi,

Please can anyone help.
3 years ago I added a wiikey 1 to my wii and all is well.
I now have a collection of my wii titles as .iso backups to protect the originals from wear and tear.

I am now worried about wear and tear on the laser in the wii.
Please can anyone advise a wii novice on the latest, safest way to softmod my 4.2e Wii with a wiikey 1.9s so that I can add a powered 1 TB HD (which I will format as WBFS or NTFS as required).

I am aware of the Homebrew channel but unsure where to get the latest version for a 4.2e and where to go next for a USB loader with coverflow graphics.

I have a SD Gecko, if it helps, but no idea how to put it to good use.
